Thunderwolves notch first WNYAC win

Visiting SUNY Niagara used a balanced effort to sweep longtime Western New York Athletic Conference nemesis Jamestown Community College on Thursday night. The scores were 25-18, 25-15 and 25-19 in favor of the Thunderwolves, who have now won two of their last three matches following an 0-6 start. SUNY Niagara is now 2-7 overall and 1-2 in WNYAC play.

Sophomore Juliana Levesque had a team-high seven kills and six service aces in the win. Freshman Alexis Majka put down four kills, sophomore Ashanti Thomas had three kills and four aces and freshman Ava Gaudy added 21 assists. Freshmen Paige Van Every and Cait Cliffe chipped in with three kills apiece.

The T-Wolves have a quick turnaround with a Region III pod slated for 2 p.m. Saturday at Onondaga Community College.
