SUNY Niagara battles rival Kats

SUNY Niagara dropped a hard-fought, three-set match to Western New York Athletic Conference rival Erie Community College on Thursday night. The scores were 25-14, 25-18 and 26-24 in favor of the Kats. The Thunderwolves, meanwhile, dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in WNYAC play.

Sophomore Juliana Levesque stuffed the stat sheet with a team-high eight kills to go along with five digs and three service aces. Freshman Cait Cliffe added seven kills and 11 digs, while sophomore Ashanti Thomas had four aces and six digs.

Also for the Wolves, who held a 21-13 lead in the third set, freshman Ava Gaudy contributed 14 assists and three digs. Classmate Lydia Tetrault chipped in with six digs.

The Wolfpack returns to action at 9 a.m. Saturday with a pair of Region III matches at the Hudson Valley Community College pod.
