For the second time in eight days, Azriel Hall posted a new career-high in scoring as she continues to add to SUNY Niagara's record books.

The Lockport native scored a career-high 40 points as the Thunderwolves defeated Lakeland CC, 100-59, Sunday in Sanborn. This marked SUNY Niagara's fourth straight win and its first meeting with the Lakers since an 84-56 win on Jan. 12 in Ohio.

Entering the day after posting a then personal best of 30 points in SUNY Niagara's last outing, a 98-63 win over Jamestown CC on Feb. 7, Hall reached the 40-point mark after shooting 13-of-17 from the field, including two 3-pointers. Hall also finished with seven rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes of play.

Currently ninth among all NJCAA Division II players with her team-high 20.1 points per game, Hall is now the first SUNY Niagara women's basketball player to record a 40-point game since 1998 graduate Michelle Milleville did in a 72-46 win versus Niagara College (Ont.) on Dec. 15, 1997. Hall's 40 points also surpassed Gabrielle McDuffie's 39-point game against Jamestown CC on March 19, 2021, which was the most by a Thunderwolf in the last 10 seasons (since 2016-17).

Sunday also marked the final regular-season home game for SUNY Niagara's three sophomores, Ava Bull, Isabella Karabetsos and Atarah Walker. Once again, the trio contributed at both ends of the floor.

Karabetsos scored 10 points and recorded a career-high 13 assists in 25 minutes of action. The sophomore from Brampton, Ont. also tied her season-high of six steals, one shy of her career-high seven, which she posted in a 100-54 win versus Corning CC on Dec. 4, 2024.

Fresh off recording her 14th career double-double versus Jamestown CC on Feb. 7, Walker finished with eight points on 4-of-6 shooting and had a game-high 12 rebounds against the Lakers. Bull finished with six points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Anna Astre and Allison Milleville scored 13 points apiece. Milleville also had eight rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench and Astre had five rebounds and three assists.

Shania Beylo had seven points, six rebounds and four assists in 18 minutes off the bench. Alana Rivers had three points and a career-high 10 rebounds in 16 minutes of action.

SUNY Niagara shot 36-of-71 (50.7%) from the field, went 8-of-22 (36.4) from the 3-point line and converted 20 of 28 attempts at the free-throw line (71.4%). The Thunderwolves also recorded 26 assists – their second-most in a game this season — and 13 steals.

SUNY Niagara is now 15-8 on the season and has won nine of its last 13 games since a 90-30 win versus Villa Maria College on Nov. 23. Also 7-2 since the start of the calendar year, the Thunderwolves have posted 10-win campaigns in 13 of the last 14 seasons (since 2012-13).
