Niagara County Community College opened the 2015-16 season with a pair of wins this past weekend at the MSAC vs. WNYAC Crossover Classic hosted by Tompkins-Cortland CC. Next up for Thunderwolves (2-0) is the David K. Martin Legacy Showcase on Friday and Saturday at Garrett College.
Niagara CCC 81, Tompkins-Cortland CC 43
A 30-point third quarter helped the Thunderwolves open the season with a big road win. Freshman guard Alliyah Gillespie had 18 points and six steals, while sophomore forward Albanellys Perez finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore guard Allison Koithan chipped in with nine points, while sophomore point guard Ericka Thompson added eight points and six steals.
Niagara CCC 78, Corning CC 63
Freshman guard Jenna Faulkner had a game-high 17 points and four assists as the T-Wolves moved to 2-0. Classmate Taliyah Hopkins added 16 points, while Perez finished with 12 points, 17 rebounds and six steals. Gillespie chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Freshman guard Peyton Butts had seven points and five steals.
