Niagara County Community College, ranked a program-best No. 13 in the latest NJCAA Div. II national rankings, opened the second semester with an 81-60 road win at Schenectady CCC on Wednesday night. NCCC is now 18-1 overall.
Freshman guard Alliyah Gillespie, a product of nearby Troy High School, had 20 points, five rebounds and three steals in the win. Sophomore guard Ana Valerie Odom netted 16 points in her first start of the season and freshman backcourt mate Jenna Faulkner added four 3-pointers.
The Thunderwolves wrap up non-conference play at 2 p.m. Saturday when they travel to four-year school Villa Maria College.
