Niagara County Community College picked up a pair of non-conference NJCAA Div. II road wins this past weekend in Ohio. The Thunderwolves are now 6-1 with their home opener scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday vs. Broome CC.
Niagara CCC 83, Clark State CC 64
Despite being whistled for 41 fouls, the Thunderwolves were able to come away with the win behind 16 points and eight rebounds from freshman wing Taliyah Hopkins. Freshman guard Alliyah Gillespie added 14 points and four assists and sophomore forward Albanellys Perez totaled 13 points and 12 boards.
Niagara CCC 80, Edison CC 69
Perez had a monster game with 21 points and a career-high 25 rebounds as the Thunderwolves pulled away in the fourth quarter. Hopkins added 15 points and six boards in the victory.
