Niagara County Community College closed out the home portion of its schedule with a big 102-51 win over visiting Jamestown CC in Western New York Athletic Conference action Thursday night. NCCC, ranked No. 12 in the latest NJCAA poll, improved to 27-2 overall and 8-1 in WNYAC play.
The Thunderwolves shot 66 percent from the field in the opening half en route to a commanding 60-23 halftime lead. For the game, the hosts knocked down 51 percent of their shots. Defensively, NCCC forced 25 turnovers and turned them into 36 points.
Freshman wing Taliyah Hopkins led the way with 21 points and three assists. Sophomore forward Albanellys Perez had 16 points and four rebounds, while classmate Tamia Jones had 13 points and nine boards. Freshman Jenna Faulkner added 10 points off the bench.
Next up for NCCC is its regular-season finale at No. 2 Monroe CC. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. Saturday.
