Niagara County Community College out-scored host Genesee Community College 25-12 in the fourth quarter en route to a hard-fought 78-61 Western New York Athletic Conference win Thursday night. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 13 in the latest NJCAA poll, improve to 23-2 overall and 4-1 in WNYAC play.
Freshman guard Alliyah Gillespie had 14 points and six assists, while fellow first-year backcourt member Jenna Faulkner added 14 points and five rebounds off the bench. Sophomore forward Albanellys Perez chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The T-Wolves won the all-important rebounding battle, 44-30. Next up is a home contest with rival Erie CC. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
