Thunderwolves win major awards to finish historic season
SANBORN — The following SUNY Niagara baseball members received the following major awards from NJCAA Division III Baseball on June 22. All three were major contributors to the Thunderwolves' 55-6 record and first NJCAA Division III World Series championship in program history (since 1967).
NJCAA Division III Baseball Player of the Year: Dalton Harper... First recipient in program history, finished in the top 10 of five different NJCAA Division III offensive categories. Harper was tied for first in hits (105), second in batting average (.556), fourth in runs batted in (91), tied for fourth in home runs (17), and eighth in runs scored (85).
NJCAA Division III Baseball Pitcher of the Year: Keegan Bazinet... Went perfect 13-0 in 13 starts (4-0 in postseason), threw team-high 89 strikeouts, third SUNY Niagara pitcher to win award in last five years, joining Ryan Peterson (2021) and Matt Barr (2025)
NJCAA Division III Baseball Defensive Player of the Year: Cam Gravelle... Turned 20 double plays (tied for team lead), had a .964 fielding percentage, had only six errors on 105 total chances, second SUNY Niagara player to win in as many years (Nigel Sebastianelli in 2025)
