Wolves knock off DII Tribunes
Sophomore Gavyn Boyle clubbed a three-run home run in the fifth inning to lift visiting SUNY Niagara past NJCAA Division II Monroe Community College, 5-2, in a nine-inning Western New York Athletic Conference on Thursday afternoon.
The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, improved to 42-0 overall.
Freshman Matt Barr earned the win on the mound as he allowed just two hits and struck out 12 in six innings of work. The right-hander is now 6-0 on the year.
Sophomore Keegan Bazinet tossed two innings of scoreless relief and classmate Nolan Feidt earned his first save as he struck out two batters in the ninth inning.
Sophomore Nigel Sebastianelli was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base, while freshman Joe Panzarella added an RBI.
The T-Wolves return to action on Saturday for their final regular-season home games of the season. First pitch is at 1 p.m. vs. Tompkins-Cortland CC at Sal Maglie Stadium.
